Description:
Olam Agri is currently seeking an Engineering Manager to oversee all engineering activities across its various sites.
The role involves ensuring optimal plant availability through the implementation of effective maintenance practices.
The Chief Engineer will report functionally to the VP-Engineering, with a dotted line reporting structure to the Plant Managers of Feed Mill and Soy Crush Plant.

Key Deliverables:
- Provide technical support to the onsite engineering team as needed.
- Ensure safety compliance across all sites.
- Develop departmental goals and strategies.
- Implement preventive and predictive maintenance for maximum equipment availability.
- Achieve key performance indicator (KPI) targets, including power, steam, and R&M cost. Improve Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE), Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).
- Manage engineering store and inventory of engineering spares & consumables.
- Demonstrate proficiency in project management, planning, negotiations, and sound commercial judgment. Ability to set priorities.
- Possess knowledge of plant utilities such as steam boilers, air compressors, gensets, water treatment plants, and fire protection systems.
- Basic knowledge in electrical and instrumentation (for candidates with a mechanical background).
- Showcase proven leadership and management skills with the ability to develop a competent maintenance team.
- Prepare maintenance budget and capex proposals, taking ownership of maintenance costs.
- Lead daily morning meetings and ensure Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) are conducted for any downtime.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to establish annual maintenance contracts, agreeing on service, delivery timelines, price, and performance requirements for applicable equipment.
- Work with the procurement team for alternate/local vendor development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) with 10-15 years of maintenance experience in a large manufacturing facility.
- 2 to 3 years of experience as a department head.
