In a heartfelt commitment to the welfare of civil servants and retirees, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has reiterated his administration’s dedication to ensuring prompt payment of salaries, pensions, and gratuities.
Speaking at a send-forth ceremony honoring the retired Head of Service (HOS) and Permanent Secretaries at the Banquet Hall, opposite the Government House in Ilorin, the Governor, represented by the Chief of Staff, Alhaji Abdulkadri Mahe, acknowledged civil servants as the cornerstone of effective governance.
The event celebrated the remarkable contributions of the outgoing HOS, Mrs. Susan Dupe Oluwole, and other retirees, recognizing their pivotal roles in driving the smooth operation of government activities. Alhaji Mahe praised their dedication and urged them to embrace a productive and healthy lifestyle post-retirement.
The Acting Head of Service, Mallam Muhammad Ibrahim, lauded Governor AbdulRazaq’s visionary leadership and commended the retirees for their exceptional service. He noted their efforts as instrumental in shaping the State’s civil service.
Mrs. Oluwole, represented by Elder David Adeshina, encouraged active civil servants to remain steadfast and dedicated. Similarly, Prince Ayo Fagbemi, Chairman of the Association of Retired Permanent Secretaries, expressed gratitude for the Governor’s consistent support through regular pension payments and gratuity approvals.
Former Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Alhaji Gesinde Amosa Adedeji, described the ceremony as unique, extending appreciation to the Governor for fostering an environment of recognition and support for retirees.
The event was graced by notable dignitaries, including Deputy Governor Elder Kayode Alabi, represented by Commissioner for Communications Mrs. Bolanle Olukoju, and Commissioner for Health, Dr. Aminat Ahmed.
