Friday, February 28, 2025, The All Progressives Congress (APC) Ward Youth Leaders and Women Leaders from Kwara Central Senatorial District held a strategic meeting at the Adewole Progressive Association Hall, Adeta Roundabout, Ilorin.
The gathering aimed to discuss ongoing developments within the party and reinforce their support for the leadership of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.Speaking at the meeting, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Political Affairs, Hon. Sulaiman Abubakar Sai Kaiyi, explained that the gathering was a follow-up to the recent National Executive Council (NEC) meeting between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and APC state governors.
He emphasized that the purpose of the meeting was to ensure that party members at the grassroots were well-informed about current developments, thereby fostering unity and alignment within the party.
The meeting brought together youth leaders and women leaders from all 52 wards in Kwara Central.During the event, Sulaiman Tawakalitu, the APC Kwara Central Senatorial District Women Leader, addressed the women leaders, expressing her gratitude for their unwavering support for the party and the governor’s administration.
She urged them to remain steadfast in their commitment to the party’s vision and to continue supporting Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq in his efforts to move the state forward.Hon. Sulaiman Abubakar Sai Kaiyi reaffirmed the APC governors’ confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership, stating that they had collectively passed a vote of confidence in his administration.
In the same spirit, he emphasized that one of the key objectives of the meeting was to officially pass a vote of confidence in Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, recognizing his dedication to the development of Kwara State.The meeting was attended by prominent APC stakeholders, including Muftau Akanbi Oke, who represented the senator for Ilorin West/Asa Constituency, as well as Abdulmajeed Abdulwahab Temidire, popularly known as Aburo Gomina, and Alhaji Turawa, the APC Kwara Central Chairman.
Several APC youth leaders took turns to commend the governor’s achievements, particularly in their respective local government areas. Hamzah Wasiu Bolaji, the APC youth leader from Odo-Ode Ward in Asa Local Government, expressed his appreciation for the governor’s developmental projects in Asa. He reaffirmed their total support for Governor Abdulrazaq’s administration while calling for more empowerment programs for the youth. Muritala Abdulraheem, a youth representative from Ilorin East, highlighted the governor’s commitment to youth empowerment through initiatives such as Trader Moni by the Kwara State Social Investment Program (KWASSIP).
Similarly, Awayeawasere Abdulfatai, the APC youth leader from Ilorin West, noted that the present administration had restored dignity and pride among party members, unlike the previous government. He also emphasized the need for a direct engagement session between the governor and party youths to further strengthen their relationship.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Hon. Abdulwahab Femi Agbaje Whyte, the Special Assistant (SA) on Political Affairs, expressed his satisfaction with the turnout and the enthusiasm displayed by party members.
He stated that he was particularly impressed with the level of organization and commitment shown by the youth and women leaders, emphasizing that their gathering was a testament to the governor’s strong leadership. He further urged them to continue supporting Governor Abdulrazaq, highlighting the remarkable infrastructural developments taking place across the state.
In a similar interview, Hon. Sulaiman Abubakar Sai Kaiyi reiterated the rationale behind the meeting, explaining that its main objective was to ensure that party members at the grassroots were well-informed about the latest developments at both the state and national levels.
He emphasized that Governor Abdulrazaq had demonstrated exceptional leadership and deserved the solidarity and support of the party. He also noted that the overwhelming show of support from youth and women leaders was a clear indication of the governor’s positive impact on the people of Kwara State.The meeting concluded with a formal vote of confidence in Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, led by representatives of the youth leaders. The entire gathering echoed their support, reaffirming their loyalty to the governor’s leadership and pledging continued dedication to the success of the APC in Kwara State.
