The Kwara State Ministry of Finance has called on all pensioners across the state to complete their registration with the Kwara State Residents Registration Agency (KWSRRA) as part of efforts to clear outstanding gratuities owed since 2011.Dr. Hauwa Nuru, Commissioner for Finance, announced that another round of substantial gratuity payments will soon commence.
However, only pensioners who have updated their records with KWSRRA will qualify.“To ensure inclusion in the payment of these outstanding gratuities, pensioners must revalidate their information by registering with KWSRRA.
This can be done at KWSRRA’s Ilorin office or the local government headquarters where designated desks have been set up,” Dr. Nuru said.She emphasized the significance of the exercise, explaining that it is not just about payments but also serves a broader purpose of enhancing government planning and security.
The Commissioner also addressed current State and Local Government employees, urging them to complete their KWSRRA registration without delay.
This, she assured, would further reinforce the government’s commitment to timely salary payments.“The ongoing registration will sanitise the payroll system, improve transparency, and enhance the accuracy of government data, ultimately ensuring a more effective public service delivery,” she added.
This initiative underscores the state government’s dedication to addressing pensioners’ welfare while maintaining transparency and efficiency in its operations.For further inquiries, pensioners and government employees are advised to contact their respective local government KWSRRA offices or visit the central office in Ilorin.
