In a bold statement against discrimination, Kwara State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to fostering an inclusive society for persons with disabilities. Represented by the Commissioner for Environment, Hon.
Nafisat Buge, the Governor addressed participants at the Walk Against Stigmatization of People With Disabilities held in Ilorin.
The event, organized by Olatunji Atanda Production under the leadership of renowned comic actor and comedian Yahaya Habeeb Olatunji, popularly known as Baba Kamo, brought together individuals from various walks of life.
It served as a powerful platform to advocate for the rights and dignity of people with disabilities while calling for societal acceptance and support.
In her speech, Hon. Nafisat Buge commended Baba Kamo and his team for their initiative and urged the public to challenge stigmatizing attitudes. “The administration of Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq remains committed to creating policies and programs that empower persons with disabilities to thrive in a supportive environment,” she said.
Participants, including community leaders, activists, and members of the public, marched through designated routes in Ilorin, carrying placards with messages of inclusion and equality.
