In a bold statement, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State has urged Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to shift his administration’s focus toward completing abandoned projects that could transform the state’s economic and social landscape.
The PDP’s call follows the recent commissioning of the first project completed by the AbdulRazaq administration in 68 months—the buildings at the Osi Campus of Kwara State University (KWASU).
The PDP described this milestone as a product of its relentless constructive criticism.“Had the Governor heeded our advice earlier, his first term could have showcased several tangible projects that might have brought former President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to Kwara for inaugurations,” said Olusegun Olusola Adewara, the party’s State Publicity Secretary, in a press release.The PDP applauded the completion of the KWASU Osi campus, an initiative it claims originated during its tenure in power.
However, the party criticized the administration for focusing on “road patching, classroom painting, and substandard renovations” instead of completing high-impact initiatives.Highlighting the unfinished projects, the PDP named the Harmony Advanced Diagnostic Centre, Shonga Farms, IVTEC in Ajase-Ipo, and other developmental programs spearheaded by past PDP administrations.
These projects, the party argued, hold immense potential to boost economic growth, improve healthcare delivery, and establish Kwara as a leading state in development.“We celebrate the commissioning of the KWASU Osi Campus buildings, but we urge Governor AbdulRazaq to prioritize the completion of several abandoned projects that can bring substantial benefits to Kwarans,” Adewara added.The PDP also reaffirmed its commitment to constructive criticism, emphasizing that its goal is the progress and accountability of Kwara State’s leadership. “We will continue to prioritize the people’s interests over destructive propaganda and the cheap politics that marked the ‘Otoge’ campaign,” the statement concluded.
As Governor AbdulRazaq’s administration moves forward, all eyes are on whether it will heed the PDP’s call to revisit and complete these vital projects that could shape Kwara’s future.
