Former Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has hailed the appointment of Sheikh Abdulkadir Jumuah Salman Solagberu, Malami Ubandoma of Ilorin Emirate, as the Chief Imam of the National Mosque, Abuja.
In a statement signed by his Press Officer on Local Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, and released to newsmen in Ilorin on Tuesday, Saraki described the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of Solagberu’s scholarly and religious contributions to Islam.
Saraki emphasized that this achievement highlights the Ilorin Emirate’s standing as a hub of Islamic scholarship and a beacon of religious excellence in Nigeria.
“The appointment of Malami Ubandoma of Ilorin Emirate, Sheikh Abdulkadir Jumuah Salman Solagberu, as the Chief Imam of the National Mosque, Abuja, is another testament to the enviable position of the Ilorin Emirate in the world of Islam. This feat has again solidified your scholarly status and contribution to the propagation of Islam,” Saraki said.
He further expressed hope that the cleric’s new role would strengthen his capacity to guide the faithful and promote Islam.
The Waziri Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate extended heartfelt prayers for Solagberu, asking Allah to grant him wisdom, strength, and support in this significant religious responsibility.
