In a dramatic turn of events at the ongoing Sardauna of Ilorin Football Championship, Offa Local Government (LG) has been awarded a semi-final victory following a disciplinary ruling against Baruten LG for fielding an ineligible player.
The Ad-hoc Disciplinary Committee, after receiving a formal protest from Offa LG, thoroughly reviewed the available evidence and confirmed that Baruten LG had indeed violated the competition’s rules by using an ineligible player during their semi-final encounter on Tuesday.
Following the investigation, the committee ruled in favor of Offa LG, declaring Baruten LG’s participation in the match null and void. Consequently, Offa LG has been awarded the match victory, effectively securing their place in the final. Additionally, Baruten LG has been fined a sum of one hundred thousand naira for the violation.
With this ruling, the stage is now set for an intense final showdown between Asa LG and Offa LG, promising an exciting conclusion to the prestigious tournament.
