Senator Saliu Mustapha Honored as Agba’akin of Isin Kingdom During Ajokogun Fiesta
In a landmark recognition, Senator Saliu Mustapha, representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, has been conferred with the prestigious title of the Agba’akin of Isin Kingdom. The announcement was made by His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Solomon Oluwagbemiga Oloyede (JP), the Olusin of Isanlu-Isin and Chairman of the Isin LGA Traditional Council.
The conferment, a highlight of the 2024 Ajokogun Fiesta, took place at the Baptist Primary School Playground, Isanlu-Isin, Kwara State. The fiesta, an annual celebration of Isin cultural heritage and unity, was attended by a host of dignitaries, traditional leaders, and residents.
Speaking on the conferment, Oba Oloyede emphasized the significance of the Agba’akin title, describing it as the highest honor in the Isin Kingdom. “For those who did not know, Senator Saliu Mustapha is a friend of Isin land. His contributions have not only touched Kwara Central but have also resonated positively across Kwara South,” the monarch stated.
This recognition comes as no surprise, as Senator Mustapha’s influence and goodwill extend far beyond his senatorial district. In recent months, he has been honored with several chieftaincy titles across Kwara South:
- November 12, 2023: Coronated as the Maiyegun of Obbo-Aiyegunle by the Owa L’Obbo of Obbo-Aiyegunle, Engr. (Dr.) Samuel Oluleye Adelodun.
- Recently: Conferred as the Aree Atunluṣe of Oro-Ago Kingdom by Oba Johnson Olarewaju Dada, the Oloro of Oro-Ago Kingdom.
The Olusin noted that the Agba’akin title is a reflection of the Senator’s steadfast support and tangible contributions to the development of Isin Kingdom and Kwara South at large.
