In a heartwarming display of generosity during this festive season, the former Speaker of the 8th Kwara State House of Assembly, Professor Ali Ahmad, has touched lives across the state by distributing millions of naira in cash gifts, chickens, turkeys, and other edibles. The gesture, targeted at Christian associations, PDP executives, and party members in all 16 local government areas, has been lauded as both timely and impactful.
The initiative underscores Professor Ahmad’s dedication to reinvigorating the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State while fostering a spirit of celebration and togetherness during Christmas and the New Year.
In a statement released by his media spokesperson, Steve Makinde, the professor of constitutional law and legislative studies emphasized the importance of leaders spreading joy and hope, especially during challenging economic times.
He urged the people of Kwara to use the festive season as an opportunity to reflect on past struggles, share love, and prepare for the future.
“True leadership is about putting smiles on faces, particularly in times of need,” said Professor Ahmad.
He extended his heartfelt Christmas and New Year wishes to Christians and all citizens of Kwara, calling for divine guidance for leaders to promote peace and prosperity across the state.
Leaders and Beneficiaries Praise the Gesture
Prophet Benjamin Olajumoke, who led the distribution of items on behalf of the Christian brethren, applauded Professor Ahmad’s thoughtful philanthropy. “This act of kindness reflects the true meaning of the season—love, unity, and joy,” he said, urging others to emulate such selfless acts.
Beneficiaries of the gesture were effusive in their praise. Mallam Ajisafe Suleiman Owolabi from Offa LGA commended the former Speaker’s consistent support for the people, while Mr. Oluwole Emmanuel Adeyeye from Oyun LGA described him as “a marketable personality and true PDP stalwart.” Mrs. Ojeyemi Lawrence also hailed Professor Ahmad as “a servant leader whose philanthropy has been a source of hope for many.”
A Celebration of Unity and Faith
Christian faithful, PDP state working committee members, and other party members across the 16 LGAs were among the recipients of the festive gifts.
The distribution highlighted Professor Ahmad’s commitment to fostering unity and goodwill, transcending political and religious boundaries.
As Kwara State celebrates the yuletide season, acts of generosity like these serve as reminders of the power of love, kindness, and true leadership.
